| Our Premium Shaped Oak Casket, which is also available in Walnut, is a traditional old-world coffin. While still popular in Europe, this style is not easy to find in the United States and we at Trappist Caskets are are pleased to make it available to our customers. The natural beauty of Oak is enhanced by this classic shape which is reminiscent of times past when life was simpler and less complicated. In those days, simple unadorned coffins were made by hand and that tradition continues here at Trappist Caskets where we have been building our own coffins by hand for over 150 years each time one of our brothers has died. We do not use nails when constructing our Trappist Caskets and the corners are mitered using Old World joinery techniques. |

| Premium Shaped Oak Casket | $1,825.00 |
| This is one of our finest shaped coffins. Red Oak is valued for its strength, endurance, and handsome beauty. In crafting these old-world coffins, we use the highest grades of Red Oak taking some of it from our own award-winning 1200 acre forest which is the second largest private forest in Iowa. The Oak is carefully milled and then handcrafted by our monks and artisans to give our shaped caskets the texture and appearance of a fine heirloom. As monks, we believe that work is a form of prayer and our approach to manual labor sets Trappist Caskets apart from those that are mass-produced. Knowing that our caskets are built on the grounds of a monastery is a source of comfort and consolation to our customers who value the spiritual message they convey. Before being shipped to its destination, each casket is personally blessed by one of the monks of New Melleray Abbey. All Trappist Caskets include a natural muslin-upholstered interior, mattress, adjustable bed, and six custom made solid brass handles. The pillow and veil of this casket comes with an upholstery upgrade that consists of a diamond pattern with a pearl stitch inside each diamond. Our Red Oak premium casket comes with a two-piece, flat, screw-down lid. A two-coat clear lacquer finish protects the casket and enhances the natural beauty of the Oak grain. This coffin can be adorned with an engraved cross on the lid at no additional cost. A wooden keepsake cross which fits inside the engraved cross is intended to be removed and kept by the family as a memorial. (Additional keepsake crosses are available at a minimal charge.) It is our mission at Trappist Caskets to build quality caskets at an affordable price. Our caskets meet or exceed industry standards for strength and size, and all models will fit into a standard size burial vault. By law, all funeral homes must accept any casket chosen by the family without incurring any additional charges and we have found that most of them are very receptive to Trappist Caskets. In most cases, your casket can arrive in 1-2 business days, depending on destination. Extra charges may apply to weekend shipping. Please call for exact shipping rates and option. Custom Engraving Trappist Caskets offers custom engraving to enable families to personalize a wooden casket or cremation urn by including a loved one's name, and significant dates. A casket can also be engraved with a religious symbol or image, a prayer, special blessing, or quotation in order to pay further tribute to his or her memory. Custom engraving on wooden caskets costs from $175 to $250. |
